The world premiere of a musical video will take place in a vet’s practice in - and aims to encourage dog walkers to be clean up after their pets.

With the backing of The Flying Picket, the musical group who wrote and recorded the original recording, the team at Old Hall Vets commissioned the campaign music video as part of their #Paws4Poo campaign.

The small animal practice decided to take action after letters of complaint to the local press about dog fowling in public places, including the church yard of St Lawrence’s.

Assistant director of the hit TV series Peaky Blinders, Shelley Lankovits, helped the team find a director to volunteer to film the video in St Lawrence’s.

The premiere will take place at an open day at on Saturday, 23, from 1-4pm at Old Hall Veterinary Practice in Appleby.

Helen Gould, a partner at Old Hall Practice, said: “The video is part of our campaign reminding people why it’s important to poop, scoop and bin - encouraging people to be responsible dog owners.

“Dogs are naturally clean animals, so it makes sense to help them remind their owns of what they should do - hence the #Paws4Poo campaign, which has great support from people in the town.

“We made an appeal for extras to take part in the music video for the campaign on our website and were amazed at the turnout of support for the project. Now they will get the chance to see their work at the premier event.’

The campaign uses images of dogs sent in by their owners in support of the #Paws4Poo campaign, which are being shared by residents and hopefully visitors on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
