A NEW mini Italian bistro has had its opening delayed by three weeks due to ongoing works.

Mondello, was due to open on Brampton's Front Street on Saturday, April 27, however, due to continuing work in the bistro and deli's basement this has been pushed back to Saturday, May 18.

The new mini bistro is owned by Marco Bouguila who gave an update on the works whilst also confirming the new opening date.

He said: "Unfortunately the work in the basement means we will have to postpone our opening day to Saturday, May 18.

"On a positive note, hopefully by then, the weather will be warm enough for customers to sit outside in the Cumbrian summer sunshine."

Speaking previously, Marco explained how the mini bistro and deli will deliver the authentic taste of Italy to foodies in the local area.

He said: "All the food that customers are going to eat here is going to be imported from Italy, nothing has been produced in Holland or in the UK... it is all going to be hand-picked.

"We are also going to serve homemade pizzas with everything from chargrilled vegetables to fungi using fresh garlic and serving Italian red and white wines and Italian Lavazza coffee.

"I want our customers to come here and enjoy the taste of good Italian food, watch Italian programs, and feel like they are in Rome - feel like they are on holiday."
