FROM mannequins to shelving units, cabinets to coat stands, an online auction house is underway selling off the fixtures and fittings of the House of Fraser building in Carlisle.

Carlisle’s long-established store first put up the closing down sale signs in February this year.

The auction doesn’t include the clothes or any items that would normally be sold in the store, but includes items as varied as clothes rails, cabinets, chairs, tables, mannequins and Christmas decorations.

Five grey male mannequins are available from as little as £20, display rails are available for £10 and seven six-foot Christmas trees would set you back £40 for the minimum bid.

Dehumidifier units are also available for bids starting at £20, and tools are among the lots: there's a nailgun and a grinder, both also starting at £20.

Filing cabinets, two microwaves and a fridge are also up for grabs.

Lockers, ladders, a steam cleaner... the list is extensive and eclectic.

The contents of the store are being auctioned by NCM auctions and a full auction catalogue can be viewed online.

Bids can also be made online and the auction ends on May 22.

The closure of House of Fraser comes after the city centre building freehold was sold for £750,000 in 2023.
