PLANS have been submitted to place Cumberland Council's logo on one of the authority's newest buildings.

According to the planning application the fascia sign, which would not be illuminated, would be placed on Cumbria House in Botchergate, Carlisle.

The report states that its purpose would be to indicate the name of the building and it would be 4.5m from the ground and measure 2.17m by 2.04m by 0.025m.

The letters would have a height of 102.2cm and the sign would consist of black text with a green, blue and white symbol with no background.

The building was completed in December 2016 and the building is steel framed with a wide glass and steel front.

The offices can accommodate up to 700 staff and, if permission is granted, the sign would be displayed until April 2029. The application is currently being considered by council planning officers.
