LONDON Road is now back open, and no casualties have been reported as a result of the house fire this morning.

Carlisle Police have confirmed that the incident is now cleared and the road is open again. The police have also confirmed that there were no casualties as a result of the fire. 

Carlisle Police said: "Thank you for your patience while the Fire Service were working on the property."

Cumbria Police were called at 7.07am by Cumbria Fire and Rescue making them aware of a fire at a property in London Road, which closed the road.

Emergency services were at the scene of the house fire around the area of London Road and Brook Street.

Cumbria Fire and Rescue service said: "At 06:53 hours on April 22 2024, two fire engines from Carlisle east and Carlisle west attended an incident on London Road, Carlisle.

“The incident was a fire involving domestic property approximately ten metres by ten metres. Firefighters used two hose reels, four breathing apparatus and two thermal imaging cameras to bring the fire under control and were in attendance for four hours."
