Stanwix School enjoyed a very successful week at the Carlisle and District Music and Drama Festival.

Over 150 children were involved in classes across both the music and drama sections.

The speaking and drama classes were strongly supported where the children recited solo poems and acted out duologues, receiving first and second in several classes.

Year 4B entertained the audience with their choric verse poem, winning first prize.

They were invited back to perform in the gala concert where they were awarded the Molly Wilson trophy for an outstanding performance in the Verse Speaking classes.

The school choir and the recorder ensemble performed beautifully, as did the solo instrumentalists who gained first place in several classes. Year One children finished the week and wowed the crowd with their two action songs.
