A TOP price of 1000gns was achieved on four separate occasions at the Badger Face Texel Sheep Society’s offering at Harrison and Hetherington’s sheep fair.

First to sell at that price was the very first lot in the ring, a three-year-old Turbo Das ewe from Andrea Dolce Little, Fencehouses, Durham. Bred by Jan Rodenburg and by Turbo Das Notorious B.I.G, she sold to John Wright on the Isle of Mull scanned with twins to Tamtain Dance Monkey.

Andrea also received 1000gns for Sunnybank Dolly Day Dream ET, which sold to Mark Crowther, Annan, carrying a single to the same sire. Her pedigree is full of imported Sunnybank blood. Mark paid a further 950gns for Andrea’s Woodies Diamond, also scanned in lamb to the Tamtain lamb and this time carrying twins. Sired by Woodies Full Monty, she is out of an imported Woodies ewe.

Two ewe lambs were the others to sell with 1000gns price tags, both of which were from James Bailey, Hunton, Bedale, and sold to Emma Edwards, Hatherleigh, Devon. With both sired by Tordown bob The Builder and out of different Church ewes, the first was the reserve champion named Ivanhoe Elsa while the other was Ivanhoe Emily.

Averages: Five aged ewes, £761; nine shearling ewes, £817; five ewe lambs, £830; two recipients, £551
