Keswick Film Club’s new season is underway. 

Club chairman Vaughan Ames says of the autumn programme: “We are making our traditional trip around the world plus adding a new feature we hope people enjoy. 

“We are starting a short season of ‘Classic Tuesdays’. There will be three classic films on the last Tuesday evening of September, October and November. 

"If these go down well, we’ll continue them next season.” 

The films in the season are: 

  • September 27 – Mommy 
  • October 4 – Black Coal, Thin Ice 
  • October 11 – Slow West – 3pm; 45 Years – 5pm 
  • October 18 – Wild Tales 
  • October 25 – Timbuktu 
  • November 1 – Glassland 
  • November 8 – Mia Madre 
  • November 15 – The Salt of the Earth 
  • November 22 – Theeb 
  • November 29 – The Lobster 
  • December 6 – Phoenix 
  • December 13 – Home from Home: Chronicle of a Vision 
  • December 20 – Sicario

The Tuesday Classics are September 29 – The Third Man, October 27 – On The Waterfront, November 24 – Rebel Without A Cause. 

All films are shown at Keswick’s Alhambra cinema on Sundays.

Tickets £4.50 for non members/£3.50 for members/£2.50 for students, under 16s and benefit claimants. 

Season pass £38 (does not include Tuesdays).

Membership also entitles attendance of Caldbeck Area Film Society at members’ rates and vice versa. 

Membership: £7 per year. Reduction of £1 on all club and film festival screenings, £1 off Alhambra’s own screenings on Wednesdays). Non-members welcome.
