Tractors a big draw

CUMBRIA Tractor Pulling Club organised one of its first events at Kirkbride Airfield in just eight weeks.
This year’s tractor pull attracted 500 spectators on the first day, September 29, but heavy rain forced the next day’s events to be cancelled.
There were 14 large tractors and nine garden tractors competing with Cumbrian racers in the money.
Kirklinton’s Angus McCamish won the superfarm class in his machine Ali’s Nightmare while Wigton’s David Todd took the superstock title.
Competitors travelled from as far as Surrey to take part.
Some of the money raised will be donated to the Bubble Foundation which helps sick children and their families.
The next pull will be held in summer 2013.
