Seaton duo Samantha McGarry and Rio Hardy have taken the next steps towards England soccer glory.
Cumbria Girls Centre of Excellence got a massive boost this week following the England talent camp at Edge Hill University.
Ten girls went along to the training camp which brought together girls from across the North West region’s Centre of Excellence programme to take part in training sessions as well as match play. And from the talent camp Sam and Rio have been put on standby to attend the England U15 training camp later this month at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre.
The four-day camp will involve coaches from the England set up as well as medical staff, exercise scientists and a video analyst to support the development of the girls.
The selected players are from across England and if Sam and Rio get the call they will be competing and training with the 30 best players in the country.
The Cumbrian girls are now anxiously awaiting a call to get their chance to impress in the England set up.
The girls are on the radar for this and future England get- togethers and have not only given them a huge confidence boost but put the Cumbria Centre in the national spotlight.
