The main centre of interest last weekend was the Denny Cup and the clash between local rivals Copeland IBC and Cumbria IBC. The Carlisle club started as strong favourites to go through and duly did so but hardly in the manner expected.

Carlisle indoor bowls club so close to disaster

The weather played havoc with the outdoor bowls season this year and hopes that we could put all that behind us when we made our way indoors recently were soon dashed when Cumbria Indoor Bowls Club, in Carlisle, came within millimetres of a major disaster last Monday evening.
