Eager buyers snapped up some of the most luxurious apartments in Carlisle during an open event last week.

Developer Reiver Homes created just 10 exclusive homes at Shaddon Mill where the interior of this Carlisle landmark was restored to showcase its unique original features - and six of the apartments have now been reserved.

Emma Martin, Reiver Homes’ sales and marketing manager, said: “The open week was a huge success and although we knew that the high quality of these apartments would impress viewers, we're delighted to have concrete evidence of that with over half of them being reserved.

"We had a wide range of visitors looking round the apartments at Shaddon Mill and it was obvious that they were all blown away by the quality of our build.

"We've fitted very contemporary kitchens with retro-fit loft styling, in keeping with the industrial past of this building.

"Striking sandstone walls and metal features dating back from the days of the old cotton mill era, and the distinctive curved ceilings of the original building, sit alongside high-end contemporary kitchens with elegant and industrial-style lighting and bathrooms, Camaro flooring and natural weave carpets."

The apartments are also equipped with modern technology, from luxury underfloor heating to power sockets equipped with USB ports.

“And as this is a fully-serviced apartment complex, with a management company to look after all of the practical things around the building, people can just move in and get on with enjoying living here,” Emma added.

Reiver Homes has now launched another high-specification development at the desirable village of Heads Nook near Carlisle.

Cairn Beck will have 10 detached homes featuring new house types and a mixture of four and five-bedroom properties sitting in large plots - and two plots have been snapped up in the first week of release!

The houses will blend seamlessly into their surroundings by utilising materials and architecture from the local environment.

"Quality and design will be at the heart of the properties in Cairn Beck," Emma Martin said. "They will feature contemporary German kitchen ranges and integrated appliances, underfloor heating and bi-fold rear doors. The plots are really generous in size and these are homes that families want to grow into."

Reiver Homes was launched in autumn last year as an operating division of Story Contracting, a family-owned business which is still chaired by owner Fred Story. Based at their head office at Burgh Road Industrial Estate, Reiver have a vision of building in the Eden, Carlisle, West Cumbria and Dumfries regions during 2018.
