Preston sign Carlisle target Joe Garner

Joe Garner has today snubbed Carlisle United to join rivals Preston on an 18-month deal.

Have your say

Let's draw a line under Joe Garner and push the board to give Greg the cash from Paddy Madden to bring in a couple of solid defenders.
Lets hope Greg doesn't waste weeks trying to find something better than we've already got.
Shouldn't be too difficult.
Every game we lose, is a game closer to relegation. and STOP DITHERING is the message to board and manager alike..

I watch Bradford Villa last night, i can see why Greg didn't offer Naiki Wells a deal all he has done is score 14 goals this season and terrify the villa and Arsenal defences! Another great Greg Abbott decision!

I wish Carlisle fans would get real. We have 4 or 5 good years which has seen us stay in League 1, we have been to Wembley 2 years in a row (How many teams can claim that). Greig has worked wonders on a shoe string to achieve what we have and now we are struggling we need the supporters to get behind what we have got and not continually slate the manager because the team is having a bad spell. It was inevitable with our limited sqaud size that when we get injuries we struggle. My view is our problems appear to be in the midfield - losing Taiwo, Thirwell injuries and Berrett not as good as recent seasons. Our poor midfield has exposed frailities in the defence which has not been able to cope thus the goals we have conceded. Edwards came with high recommendation (known as steady Eddie at Notts C) so feeling is he was used to having a decent midfield in front of him.
Please get off Greggs back and instead of moaning get down to BP because your team meeds all the support they can get right now!

ABBOT OUT OR FACE RELEGATION

The major concern is that no one at CUFC saw the Garner move to Preston when the man in the street did again its common knowledge that it is likly that Miller will goe to Rangers when out of contract,in the close season the warning signs were there when players refused to stay choosing the uncertainty of having no club Something is saddly wrong at CUFC its as if they are going through the motions.its a dying club if allowed too if the current owners are not interested go please before its to late.

Our defence is shocking. Would it not be wise to look for some experienced defenders instead or does Greg change his oil filter when he gets a flat tyre?

I echo a lot of the comments above. what kind of player can we attract ? crumbling infrastructure, unambitious board and a very poor manager.Lee Miller looks like he is treading watewr until he goes to Rangers in the suummer. What relegation battle Gregg.........? THIS ONE

sir
out of respect for the job greg abbott has done in the past and to avoid problems with un fair dismissible -if greg has to go let it be when his contract ends
donot renew gregs contract
my question is WHEN DOES GREG ABBOTS CURRENT CONTRACT END

Good luck to Joe we were never going to compete with any other at this level. I think we should be more concerned that we have let one of our players go who is in proven form to another club in our division. Miller will be no doubt next to move on, it's all going downhill.
