Support and aspiration: A new approach to special educational needs and disability

This new Government Paper aims to improve the aspirations and hopes of students with disabilities and learning difficulties and give them greater control of their own life stories for the future.

Whatever the school leaving age is, we hope students go with positive memories

I remember being told an anecdote about a final memory of school days. This was in Manchester way back in the 1970s and the fifth years (current year 11) were suddenly rounded up in the hall and told by the headteacher to “clear off”.
