Carlisle nursery's nimble nippers try a taste of different cultures
Last updated at 11:14, Friday, 27 January 2012
Tots at a nursery near Carlisle have been trying a taste of different cultures this week.
Marking Chinese New Year on Monday, staff and children at Stone Eden Nursery learned how to use chopsticks and tasted noodles, rice and beansprouts.
Burns Night was also marked in the Aglionby nursery on Wednesday.
Staff performed their own version of ‘piping in the haggis’ by playing traditional Scottish music as children arrived.
At snack time the children sampled some haggis before they sang Auld Lang Syne, in celebration of the Scottish poet Robert Burns.
Burns suppers are traditionally held on or around January 25 – the poet’s birthday – to commemorate his life and works.
