Go-ahead for traffic signals on Eden Bridge
Last updated at 15:57, Tuesday, 05 March 2013
Permanent traffic signals at Eden Bridge in Lazonby have got the green light.
The go-ahead was given at a meeting of Cumbria County Council’s Eden local committee.
The decision follows consultations carried out by the county council to gauge the opinion of the local community on permanent lights to improve safety.
The survey - carried out via post and online - showed 81 per cent of the 463 who responded were in favour of the permanent solution.
Temporary traffic signals have been in place at the bridge since March last year.
