PLANNERS at Craven District Council have given the go-ahead for five new houses on the old Moorgarth Garage site on the A65 near Ingleton.
Developers submitted an outline application to build five detached homes on the site between the A65 and Rarber Top Lane, which was used as a service station and is now a pine furniture business.
Ingleton Parish Council registered its concerns about road safety as the proposed access to and from the site is on a fast stretch of the A65.
The council also pointed out that Ingleton village was being extended and that a commercial site with employment potential would be lost.
Councillors on Craven District Council's planning committee approved the application.
