A man has been charged following an operation targeting alleged car clocking.
Ross Henry Neville, 22, of Stanhope Road, off Wigton Road, Carlisle, is charged with 15 counts of fraud by false representation.
The charges follow an operation launched in May last year.
Its aim, police said, was to tackle the practice of lowering mileage on second-hand cars which are then sold to unsuspecting people.
Police said four men were arrested. Three were released without charge.
Neville will appear at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, January 31.
Anyone who believes they have been sold a car that has been tampered with or had its paperwork changed can contact Trading Standards on 08454 040506 or Cumbria police on 101. For more general advice go to www.adviceguide.org.uk
