A man has been charged following an operation targeting alleged car clocking.

Ross Henry Neville, 22, of Stanhope Road, off Wigton Road, Carlisle, is charged with 15 counts of fraud by false representation.

The charges follow an operation launched in May last year.

Its aim, police said, was to tackle the practice of lowering mileage on second-hand cars which are then sold to unsuspecting people.

Police said four men were arrested. Three were released without charge.

Neville will appear at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, January 31.
