Bookkeeping course is only one of its kind in Cumbria

A new course – the only one of its kind in Cumbria – is being launched to offer those in the finance industry career-enhancing skills.
The course, an intermediate apprenticeship in bookkeeping accredited by the International Association of Bookkeepers, will cover topics including accounting and finance, principles of VAT and accounting software.
The tuition is being delivered by Carlisle-based System Training’s dedicated accountancy division, which works with leading names in the county’s accountancy industry.
And, to give people a taster for what’s in store and an opportunity to discuss the qualifications, it is hosting an open day at its English Gate Plaza training centre, off Botchergate, from 2.30pm until 7pm on Monday.
David Mandle, System’s financial training manager, said: “Our open day is the ideal opportunity for people looking to boost their financial knowledge and enhance their career opportunities to come along and understand the training and qualifications available to them.
“Accountancy and bookkeeping skills are used by every business and I believe these qualifications will give people the edge during employment interviews.”
