More than 80 bridges which were damaged during Storm Desmond will have been repaired by the end of the month.
The latest of programme of work by Cumbria County Council contractors only started at the end of August.
But the authority says in just a matter of weeks they will have worked on and repaired a total of 81 bridges throughout the county.
They're also due to start their winter resilience programme which will involve implementing "defensive measures" at a further 18 bridges.
A council spokesman said: "While these measures will not make these bridges immune to damage over the coming winter, it will help make them as resilient as possible.
"The winter resilience programme includes the building of scour protection and placing rock armour around bridge piers."
