Castle to host art exhibition
One of north Cumbria's landmark buildings will play host to an art exhibition next weekend.
Forty-five Cumbrian artists will show their work at Rose Castle, the former home of the Bishop of Carlisle.
The castle, nestled in countryside, near Dalston, will be open from June 23 to 25.
Work will be on display in various rooms around the building.
One of the artists - Mary Snape - has painted a picture of the castle which is to be raffled to raise money for the Rose Castle Foundation.
It aims to use the castle as an international reconciliation centre.
The exhibition is open from 3pm until 8pm on June 23, 10am to 5pm on June 24 and 10am to 4pm on June 25.
Entry is £4, which includes light refreshments, a chance to explore the castle's interior and discover the artwork on display.
The art work is for sale.
