Brampton Co-op is set to reveal its new look today (FRI) as it reopens following a £640,000 makeover.

The store, in Main Street, closed on May 13 and a pop-up shop was temporarily set up in the car park while work got underway.

Customers will now be able to use self-service check outs and will also benefit from longer opening hours.

The refit, say bosses, has a focus on fresh, health foods, meal ideas and essentials.

Amanda Crowe, store manager for the Co-op, said: “We are delighted to have made such a significant investment in our Brampton store.

“It has a great new look and we are looking forward to re-launching and serving the community.

“The Co-op is moving forward with a clear purpose and momentum and our ambition is to establish the store as a local hub, a real asset for the community.

“It is an exciting time for the whole team.”

The opening marks the launch of a new membership scheme which is set to bring a funding boost to community groups.

Members will receive rewards on purchases of Co-op products and services, with a further one per cent going to Brampton and Beyond Community Trust, Wilson Memorial Homes and Brampton Primary School Parent-Teacher Association, which have been chosen as the beneficiaries of the scheme.

Area manager Sean White added that the return of a clover leaf logo, which was first used in the 1960s aims, to re-establish the Co-op as a centre for the community.

“Our members have an opportunity to make a difference locally. Simply by using their membership card when they shop with us they will raise much needed funding for organisations which contribute to improving local life,” he said.

The Co-op will now open 6am until 10pm all week.
