The bunting was up at a Brampton care home as staff and residents marked a proud milestone.

Music and dancing got underway at Howard Court Care Home, in Howard Arms Lane, on Saturday to celebrate its 30th birthday.

Entertainer John Flattery got the party started and performed two sets, including a number of the residents' favourite songs, throughout the day.

Howard Court was opened in 1987 by Mike Dresser who still owns it today.

He said the 30 years had gone in a flash.

His partner Sue Lane, office manager, said they felt it was a milestone worth marking.

She said: "It went really well. The residents really enjoyed it and so did the guests."

As part of the celebration 30 balloons with residents names were released into the sky.

Sue said this was a poignant moment for Mike and his ex-partner Hazel Dresser.

"It has been his business for the last 30 years. I was very thankful to all the staff who were there and for everybody who made it what it was.

"Everybody enjoyed the day. It was a party," said Sue.

Howard Court is a dementia registered home which can look after up to 28 residents. It currently has 24.
