A book about the war heroes from one corner of Carlisle has been unveiled.
Authors James Robinson, Alex Proudfoot and Derek Nash focused on the war memorial outside St Andrew's Church at Botcherby in their work of local and military history
Botcherby Heroes Remembered 1914-18 was launched at an event packing out the church.
It tells of the high price paid by the young men of this area in World War One.
Of the 48 who enlisted, 15 died on military service.
The event was hosted by the Reverend Steve Donald.
As well as looking at the memorial's history, the book reveals details of how the memorial was funded, its cost - and also explores the stories of the men whose names feature on it.
The book, which is 50 pages long and contains 70 illustrations, is priced at £7.99, with £2 postage and packaging.
A copy can be ordered by writing to Derek Nash at Bramerton Lodge, Wood Street, Botcherby, Carlisle, CA1 2SF.
£2 from every book sold will be donated to military charities.
