A body has been found underneath a bridge in north Cumbria.
Police were called by a member of the public to the site on the A689 at the Middle Gelt Bridge, between Hayton and Talkin, at about 6.50am today.
The body of a man, believed to be in his twenties, was discovered under the bridge.
A spokeswoman for Cumbria Police said: "Officers are working to identify the man and inquiries are also ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to his death.
"His death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious at this time."
The coroner will be informed.
Work is ongoing to recover the man and to identify his body.
