Could you be a Me Summer Girl?
Last updated at 10:45, Sunday, 04 April 2010
You’ve either got or you haven’t got style... or so that old song tells us. Well, if you’ve got it, we want it. Or perhaps more to the point, we want to see it and help you to bring your own special style to its full, gorgeous potential.
Following last year’s sensationally successful Me Model competition, today we launch our Summer Girls contest.
As we all emerge from winter’s drudge, it’s time to plan for some colour, glamour, excitement and fun in our lives.
If you think you have the panache – that sexy, elegant something that can turn heads, stop traffic and leave lesser mortals tongue-tied – we want to hear from you.
Over the next few months we’ll be gathering and publishing the names and pictures of Cumbrian lovelies who could be our Summer Girls.
It’s an exciting prospect of high fashion, high visibility, high glamour. And it could be yours.
From a shortlist in late spring, readers will be invited to choose the girls who will model for our photo celebration of a long-awaited summer.
With mercury rising and the sun shining on the country’s most beautiful and vibrant county, our Summer Girls will model the best fashion, accessories, swimwear, fabulous shoes, divine handbags – all against the backdrop of Cumbria’s exceptional beauty.
In readiness for their modelling assignments, our girls will receive hair and beauty styling from professionals dedicated to bringing out the best in any girl or woman – whatever her age or size.
In addition, our top two Summer Girls – those winning the highest number of readers’ votes – will each receive a portfolio of photos from their own, professional fashion shoot.
If you want to be one of our Summer Girls, send your name, address, age and a daytime phone number, along with a picture of yourself to Me Summer Girls, c/o Anne Pickles, Cumbrian Newspapers, Newspaper House, Dalston Road, Carlisle, CA2 5UA.
Alternatively email those details and a photo to entries@cngroup.co.uk. It would be helpful if you could tell us a little about yourself – interests, hobbies, job, studies, ambitions etc.
Parental permission to enter will be necessary if you are under 16. Any of the girls entering may be invited to take part in Me-sponsored or related events, such as fashion show, wedding shows, and promotional events.
