Maryport aquarium says ‘thanks’ with price cut

Admission prices for the Lake District Coast Aquarium in Maryport will be reduced next month as a thank you to the town.

Entrance for adults and children will be £2.50, compared with the normal price of £4.75 for children and £7.50 for adults.

Mark Vollers, owner of the harbourside aquarium, said: “This is our 15th year and we wanted to give some kind of gift to the community that has supported us so well.”

He hoped that reducing tickets to better than half price would allow families to visit the aquarium.

In its 15 years, the aquarium has undergone several changes and its cafe is as popular as the aquarium itself.

Its Thai nights have become well known and well supported.

Have your say

way overpriced at £7.50 its a lot for about half an hour unless you can sneak a fishing rod in!!!!!!!
