A man who left another with brain injuries and a fractured skull after a fight at a carnival in west Cumbria has been warned that he is likely to be sent to prison.
Twenty-year-old Jamie Friel floored Dean Banks, 19, with a single punch at the event in Seaton in June, then kicked him as he lay on the ground.
Mr Banks, 19, is thought to have suffered his injuries when he fell backwards and then hit his head on the ground.
Friel, of Cockfield Drive, Workington, pleaded guilty at Carlisle Crown Court to inflicting grievous bodily harm.
He was remanded for background reports and will be sentenced on December 7.
In the meantime, he was allowed bail on condition that he keeps out of Seaton and Northside, Workington, and does not contact any prosecution witnesses.
He was also put under a curfew to keep him at home every night.
The judge warned him that he would probably go to jail.
