Gillford Park thumped at Northallerton

Gillford Park joint manager Stuart Bell was at a loss to explain his side’s 5-0 Northern League Division Two thrashing at Northallerton Town.
Only 1-0 down at half-time, Bell had told his side they were still in with a chance but a second half capitulation saw them condemned to a heavy defeat.
“We came out in the second half and absolutely battered them for 20 minutes but then we just seemed to lose the plot, which was frustrating,” said Bell.
“We had the chances to get back into the game but we haven’t taken them and the game then got a bit crazy and the scoreline looks a bit out of context with the way the game went.”
The result leaves Gillford in 12th place.
