Ged Crooks reveals latest Carlisle pub venture

Nightlife guru Ged Crooks wants to create a beer garden at the back of Pancho’s restaurant in Carlisle.

I note none of the smokers have passed comment about them enjoying being out in fresh air before they were banished outside to smoke! Some of us have enjoyed it for a long time and welcome more opportunities for eating outside as proposed by Ged Crooks.

Sam - far from perfect, I just dislike smoking in places that serve food outdoors and the attitude of smokers feeling like theyre victimised for their disgusting hobby.

So many posts from smokers they must realise they are the ones with the problem, if not they are worse than I thought. Guilt at how they affect everyone else obviously puts them on the defensive. I am sure the non smokers also wish the new venture well and will support it if the atmosphere isn't too polluted.

Dave: Completely agree that people should get behind entrepreneurs such as Mr. Crooks. It is a pity that the second post in this thread was an anti-smoking post and that of course unleashed more anti-smoking zealots with their singular, obsessive issue. The anti-smoking clique started it and I agree, they should get behind this initiative regardless but the simple fact is they will not rest until they achieve absolute victory and humiliate all smokers along the way, relegating them to second class citizens and untermenschen in their prejudiced, carbon monoxide-free utopian vision for the world.

we eat in panchos quite a lot and if this new outdoor venture is as good as the interior service etc the whole thing will be a credit to the city of carlisle

Typical of Carlisle people get behind an entrepreneur NO lets turn it into a smoking argument.We need people like Ged and other buisness men to get this country on its feet,and employing people who gives a monkey whether people smoke or not,without jobs the country is finished.
