You too could be a star like Jolan. The 22-year-old from Moor Row, near Whitehaven, clinched the runner-up spot in last Saturday’s final of The Voice.

And now the show’s talent spotters are taking to the roads of Britain in their search for new talent for next year’s show.

Auditions will take place on Thursday, April 28 at 9pm in The Liquor Hut, Englishgate Plaza, Botchergate, Carlisle.

On Instagram, the Liquor Hut said: “Want your VOICE to be heard? Don’t miss your chance to be spotted by representatives from ITV at our next Open Mic Night where representatives from The Voice will be checking out what our city has to offer.

“Hosted by the boys from Echo Trap with free entry.

“Artists are suggested to arrive early for set up and sign up. If you don’t want to miss out on performing drop us a direct message with your details for pre-sign up, only limited spaces available.”

The show, in which Jolan clinched the second spot is moving from BBC to ITV from 2017.

When Jolan first auditioned for The Voice UK in 2014 he failed to tempt any of the judges.

Not put off by their rejection, he continued to perform around Cumbria then tried again with more experience under his belt this year.

This week, after the media hype died down, Jolan wrote on Twitter: “Tired doesn’t even cut it. What an amazing few months! Great start to a long career with all you lovely people behind me!”

The singer is now looking at the next step to success.

He said: “We’ve already got some plans in place.

“I can’t say anything at the moment but it will be announced in the next couple of weeks."
