HOW THEY MET: In the Turf pub in October 2014.

PROPOSAL: They found out they were expecting a baby in February 2015 and a couple of weeks later Stephen got down on one knee and proposed.

STAG and HEN CELEBRATIONS: The hens went to Manchester for the weekend, doing It’s a Knock-Out and cocktail-making. The stags went to Edinburgh.

VENUE: Skitby House, Smithfield, near Carlisle.

THEME: Vintage.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A mermaid-style dress with lace detail from Kokoa Bride, Carlisle.

GROOMSMEN: Joe Metcalfe, groom’s brother, was best man. The groom and best man wore Prince Edward suits in black from Greenwoods, Carlisle.

BRIDESMAIDS: Debbie Oliver, bride’s sister; Lisa Barlow, groom’s sister, were bridesmaids. Amy Rebecca and Grace Oliver, bride’s nieces, and Eliza and Phoebe Barlow, groom’s nieces, and Ava Metcalfe, the couple’s daughter, were flower girls. All wore dresses from Make Believe Brides, Annan.

RINGS: A plain white gold band for the groom with a white gold with diamond ring for the bride. Both from Ernest Jones.

FLOWERS: Sunflower bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids with baskets of sunflowers for the flower girls. All by Sophie Brooksbank.

TRANSPORT: Silver Lady Cars.

RECEPTION: An afternoon reception for 55 guests with a barbeque and dance for 140 evening guests.

TABLE SETTINGS: Tables were decorated with birdcages and blue and yellow confetti.

CAKE: A two-tier cake made by the bride’s sister, Debbie Oliver.

FIRST DANCE: A Thousand Years, Christina Perry.

ENTERTAINMENT: Leroy Johnstone and the Flicks.

HONEYMOON: Spain.
