Three teenage sisters held their own in the Lakes Counties Jersey Herd Competition.
Emily, Laura and Rachel Elliott from Farlam Hill Farm, near Brampton, came third in the small herd section of the competition, which attracts entries from three counties.
Rachel works at Burnetts Solicitors while 15-year-old twins Emily and Laura attend William Howard School in Brampton. They started keeping Jersey cows in 2006 and now have two milking cows and two calves.
Mum Caroline said: “As soon as Laura and Emily come home from school, they throw on their farm clothes and get straight out to work with the animals.”
