Carlisle United are hoping that reduced ticket prices and the lure of an FA Cup run will boost tomorrow’s crowd for the clash with Bournemouth.

Fans have until 5pm today to save up to £9 on the normal cost of a ticket, with adult prices at £13.

They revert to £18 if bought on match day.

Bournemouth are expected to bring more than 400 supporters after the club put on free coach travel.

The Blues are desperate for an improved home crowd. A spokesman said: “It is always important to get to the third round of the FA Cup, when the big boys come into the competition.

“Things have been tough lately so it would be wonderful to get a good occasion at home.

“It is important to have a good crowd singing and shouting up for the team.

“Bournemouth will be bringing good numbers on the free buses they are laying on.

“After the 4-2 defeat to them a few weeks ago everyone will feel they have something to prove.”

United have had the pitch covered this week as temperatures fell below zero, but the game is not understood to be in doubt.

The Warwick Road End and A Stand are closed tomorrow.

The Blues held their AGM last night, where the detail of their £124,329 operating loss was explained to shareholders.

The last financial year saw a further £100,000 repaid to Story Construction, reducing United’s debt to £1.1 million.
