Carlisle law firm Burnetts Solicitors has expanded into Penrith.
Employment law partner Natalie Ruane, who lives in Penrith, is in charge of the Cornmarket office.
She said: “Over the last few years, I have been focusing on building our presence in Penrith.
“I’ve been a regular at the Penrith Curry Club, joined the Chamber of Trade and have been hosting fortnightly legal briefings at Cranstons. I’m hopeful that I can play a more active role in the business community now that we have a full-time base here.”
She added: “Penrith is a vibrant, creative and dynamic town. The huge support for the recent business-improvement-district proposal demonstrates the excitement that everyone feels in Penrith’s future.”
Burnetts already has offices at Victoria Place and Rosehill, Carlisle, Westlakes near Whitehaven, and Newcastle. To promote its presence in Penrith, it is offering a free advice clinic on the last Saturday of each month.
The first, on employment law, is on January 26 from 9.30am until noon.
Ms Ruane will advise employers and employees on issues such as redundancy, re-structuring, changes to terms and conditions, handling grievances and disciplinary procedures.
