Lloyd Motor Group has been awarded three accolades from a trio of luxury car manufacturers.

BMW, Land Rover and Jaguar have all heaped praise and titles on the Carlisle-based family firm this year.

This comes after the business created more than 40 jobs across its Cumbrian operations over the past year.

The first accolade came from BMW, which awarded the company’s Blackpool dealership its ‘BMW retailer of the year’ award, in recognition of its customer service and business performance among more than 140 other BMW retailers in the UK.

This is the second consecutive year and the fourth time in the past decade that a BMW retailer from Lloyd Motors has received this title, something no other group has managed.

Gary Bingley, Lloyd Motors franchise director for BMW and Mini, was delighted with the group’s achievements.

He said: “We are incredibly proud that we have again been named ‘BMW retailer of the year’. To be recognised for the fourth time in 10 years is testament to our philosophy of putting our customers at the forefront of our culture.”

Lloyd Land Rover – which has franchises in Rosehill, Carlisle, Kelso in the Scottish Borders and Rippon in North Yorkshire – won the ‘Land Rover retail group of the year’ award, also in recognition of customer service and business performance throughout 2016.

On the same evening this was presented, Lloyd Jaguar Carlisle, based at Rosehill, was also recognised, coming third in the UK in the category of ‘Jaguar retailer of the year’.

Rob Lindsay, franchise director at Lloyd Jaguar Land Rover, said: “We are incredibly proud that we have been named ‘Land Rover retail group of the year’.

“It is without doubt due to the efforts of all of our people and their focus on delivering exceptional performance and, most importantly, ensuring our customers’ satisfaction.

“This award is a credit to every member of the team. We would like to thank our customers for their continued loyalty and valued support.”

The company is based in Kingstown, Carlisle, and employs more than 1,200 people. It was set up in 1976 and is owned by the Lloyd family.

Lloyd Motor Group operates 31 dealerships, all of which are in the north of England and southern Scotland.

Alongside BMW, Land Rover and Jaguar the company also has dealerships for new Mini, Honda and Volvo vehicles and also sells used cars.

Its latest development is set to be a new BMW dealership at Kingstown. This will open this month though the precise date has not been confirmed.
