Cumbrian accountancy firm Lamont Pridmore has won another award.

It was named ‘accountancy firm of the year (up to five partners)’ at the North West Finance Awards held at Bolton Wanderers’ Macron Stadium.

It is the second time in three years that Lamont Pridmore has won.

The judges were impressed with the firm’s “excellent client relationship building”, which had “underlined strong organic fee growth and income performance” and a “very impressive customer satisfaction record”.

Chief executive Graham Lamont said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won and it is so nice to hear the glowing comments from the judges.

“We feel this award truly reflects our position in the region and is a clear demonstration of the exceptional work our accountants conduct on behalf of the business community and individuals.”

Lamont Pridmore is based in Carlisle and operates from eight offices in Cumbria and north Lancashire.

Meanwhile, a trainee at Saint & Co in Carlisle is about to receive the Northern Society of Chartered Accountants’ ‘order of merit – professional stage’ for students studying to become a chartered accountant.

Joanna Scott, 27, of Denton Holme, Carlisle, joined Saint & Co in 2013. She is originally from Castle Douglas in Dumfries and Galloway.

Another Saint & Co trainee, Beth Rogerson, has been nominated for the ‘president’s award – professional stage 2015’ as one of the top-performing students in her cohort.

Miss Rogerson, 24, of Thurstonfield, is a former pupil of Caldew and Nelson Thomlinson Schools and joined Saint & Co in 2014 after completing a maths degree at Durham University.

She finds out tonight FRI if she has won at the Northern Society’s Business and Awards dinner in Newcastle.

Miss Scott will also receive the order of merit at the event.

Stuart Farrer, partner at Saint & Co, said: “We are bursting with pride that Joanna and Beth have had their hard work and commitment recognised.

“Becoming a chartered accountant is a long journey. Joanna and Beth are now ready to face the final hurdle to gain full chartered status.”
