Not only do wind turbines spoil the countryside, but they are an extremely unreliable source of power - the wind isn't always blowing.
The Morecambe Bay barrage, as many will know, was much talked about in the mid 60's. At that time I recall it was more about being an additional fresh water supply than anything else.Nowadays when we are looking for greener energy, the MB barrage would relably provide this - along with quicker travelling times to the Barrow area and the added bonus of one large freshwater lake that would promote tourism for the whole of Morecambe Bay.I can't recall the amount of times people have said we visited Morecambe, Grange, Arnside etc but sadly the tide was out. There'd be no more of that. Build the barrage!View all 46 comments on this article

Have your say
They might be a problem but if we don't have them then we are going to have more greenhouse gasses and we are going to polote the earth with disrsters then we wonder why!
